Cutting off the No's

Washington is one crazy town. If I hear a Democrat say a "compromise" was reached - when in fact they've basically caved to the GOP terrorist demands - one more time, I may actually have to run for office. Seriously. I don't think I can take much more.

The latest example is over FAA funding. From all our fiscally minded friends on both sides of the aisle, this one is beyond absurd. In order to kill a small subsidy program that enables rural airports to operate, Congress did nothing to fund the agency. Don't get me started on the budget reauthorization process.

But I digress. So in order to kill that $15 million (give or take a million) program, the brain trust created a situation where it was not possible for the government to collect the taxes that airlines charge - per ticket. To the tune of $30 million a day. If they had not reached the "compromise" - which basically means they agreed to temporary funding WITH the unreasonable GOP amendments. If the American people do not realize we are daily facing a Congress that's willing to sacrifice the whole to advance their warped cause, we are in deep, deep doo-doo.
